Oleg Rud
Ph.D., Researcher
I am a researcher at Charles University with a focus on advanced computational experiments in physical chemistry. My work centers on theoretical and simulation-based studies of polyelectrolyte aqueous solutions, including gels, colloids, and desalination processes.
Academic Background:
- Ph.D. in Polymer Physics from the Russian Academy of Sciences: My dissertation explored the theory and modeling of core-shell structures in star-branched amphiphilic polyelectrolytes.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship at Charles University: I conducted hybrid Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics simulations of pH-sensitive polyelectrolyte hydrogels and SF-SCF modeling of hydrogels and water desalination process.
- Visiting Researcher at ETH Zurich and the Institute of Macromolecular Compounds: I focused on modeling curved dendron brushes and polymer stars.
Research Contributions:
- Principal Investigator for a project funded by the Czech Grant Agency (GAČR grant 19-17847Y), where I developed innovative desalination methods using hydrogel technology.
- Current Work: Engaged in theoretical modeling of supercapacitors with polymer brush-modified electrodes, continuing to advance the field of physical chemistry through computational and theoretical research.
