Professor Russell Morris completed his PhD at the University of Oxford, UK, in 1992. He was then a postdoctoral researcher at the university of California Santa Barbara, USA. In 1995 he returned to the UK to take a post at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where he is currently Bishop Wardlaw Professor of Chemistry. He holds a part time position in the Department of Physical and Macromolecular chemistry at the Charles University in Prague. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society in London.
His research is focused on the synthesis, characterization and application of porous materials. His work spans zeolites and metal-organic frameworks and has developed several new concepts, including the ionothermal synthesis of materials and the application of porous solids for the storage and delivery of gases for medical applications (research group page).
Russell Morris has authored over 200 publications with over 11,000 citations and an H-index of 55.
